How
to Make a Necktie is the simple process, which requires less concentration
and a little perfection. It is very essential that you choose fabric material
of better quality. Making a necktie is one of the cool and better ideas to minimize
the cost and get best quality output. Therefore we provide you procedure that
you can adopt to make your own tie.
- Initially decide on the style and
size that you prefer for your tie. Suppose you have decided to make a tie 57"
inches long and 3 ½ inches wide together with keeper sewn. Assemble the things
that you need to make a tie such as measure tape, pencil, ruler, sharp scissors,
label, new needle, thread, silk fabric (1 square yard) and wool yard 1 ¾ just
for interlining. It is possible that you can make 2 ties out of 1 yard silk.
- Then
carefully and easily unroll the silk and smooth it with your gentle hands. After
that place your pattern on silk and carefully draw the line around the edge of
the fabric that you use. In case of four-fold tie you may generally have 3 pieces
of pattern and 1 piece pattern require for interlining.
- Now cut the
pattern line carefully making 45-degree angle to the selvage both for your wool
and silk. If you are convenient make use of rotary cutter.
- After cutting
make sure to press it at temperature that suits the silk cloth.
- Draw
correct lines on correct side so that the tipping can sew to the tie area.
- Now
here comes the tricky method where you must sew the bottom side of the tie. See
that right side of main and tipping part of the tie faces each other. Then stitch
it twice so that both the parts get attached. Now carefully open the fabric and
lay out flat. Now sew the initial line very close to the fabric edge that on both
the sides of the fabric triangle. To get the triangle point sews at 45-degree
angle. Make sure that you sew the corners inside. For your convenience, it is
advisable to use proper piece of poster-board so as to get the accurate triangle.
- After
that carefully sew the smallest tipping end.
- Now turn the bottom end
outside. After that sew the three pieces (silk fabric) in a combined form. Then
take the wool interlining and place it inside the tie. Here you have to be cautious
to place the snugly against the bottom end and top end of the tie.
- Then
gently fold the fabric to centerline; make sure that you make four folds in the
necessary manner. It is obvious that second fold will slightly overlap to the
centerline. In order to hold the fold in a steady manner you can use silk pins.
- Sew
the tube keeper. Then gently place it inside the tie and then you can easily sew
it up. Flatten the keeper and sew on both the sides. This makes a durable and
long lasting tie.
- Be sure to make hidden stitches so to close the
tie. Take a stitch slip loop both at the bottom and top of the tie, which gives
the tie a flexible posture.
- Now start stitching from the bottom to
the top. Remove the pins as you stitch.
- Finally sew the label with
small stitches. Now the tie is ready for your shirt.
It
is to be noted that this procedure is eligible for making silk neck tie, classic
neck tie, woollen neck tie, burberry neck tie, etc. |
